The Fort Washington Area Rec. Council Boys & Girls Club (the “Cannons”) is an all volunteer non-profit organization governed by an annually elected Board of Directors. Our main purpose is to sponsor educational and sports activities for persons living in the Fort Washington and Accokeek communities. All those who participate or have children who participate in these activities are members of the Council. Your membership in FWARC allows you to influence the variety and quality of programs we sponsor. For our programs to be effective, we must have the continued support of all our parents and friends. The fees we charge only cover a fraction of the cost to run these programs. Without volunteers our programs would not survive. Get involved and be a part of your child’s future in our community. Activities run year round.
Welcome to Fort Washington Boys and Girls Club and the start of the Fall season. Let me first thank you for your interest in the club and our youth Football Program.
Football camp will officially begin on July 13, 2015 for age groups 4 and up.
On Monday, July 13 practice will take place at Riverview Field located at 11601 Riverview Road, Fort Washington, Md. from 6:30-8:00 PM. All athletes should wear cleats for outdoor conditions.

Generally coaches will practice 2-3 days a week, but that may vary depending on the coaches. Teams will be broken down based upon the number of available teams.

Registration paperwork for new members consists of: a copy of your child’s birth certificate, small picture for club ID card, yellow and white cards (provided by club) and payment of $170 for those players ages 5 and up $85 for those players ages 3-4. Also, parents are responsible for paying the $100 deposit for equipment fee that will be returned at the end of the year.
Registration information will be accepted at the July 13 football camp. Registration will end on August 22, 2015. All registration information is due prior to that date. If you have not yet registered your child at ftwash-bgc.org please do so. Space on available teams are filling up quickly.
League play is scheduled to begin on September 5, 2015 for ages 5 and up. League play for ages 3 and 4 usually takes place approximately 2 weeks later. I will update you on additional information regarding the season as it becomes available. Game schedules are not available until the Thursday before play begins.
Equipment will be given out the week of July 27. Times will be available at a later day.
Each player will receive a full game uniform, along with a practice jersey.
All game uniforms and equipment must be returned at the end of the season.
